TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Nearly 1,200 fourth graders from all over Leon County performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday.
It’s part of their Link Up program that pairs local orchestras with schools and teaches them music education. The students learned to read music and play instruments throughout the course of the year.
"When you're in the concert, when you're having the experience, you forget its educational because it is so joyful and the kids are having such a great time and it’s the most inspiring thing to see them learn about music and be in love with it the way that our musicians are," said Amanda Stringer, CEO of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra.
A second performance with the other half of the program will take place on Wednesday morning.
