GREEN BAY, Wis. (WEAU) -- Another NFL season means tailgating is back for the next several months. And for one Wisconsin couple, it means the beginning of the rest of their lives.
“She said yes, so I got a happy day for me,” Kyle Lewandowski of Thorp, Wis. said of his now fiancée, Emily Anderson of Cumberland, Wis. And it happened right outside of Lambeau Field in Green Bay: the perfect location for this couple.
“We had both of our families come up and tailgate for the Packer game,” Lewandowski said. “I guess about a week ago, I was like, ‘Hey! I suppose it’s about time to pop the question to this beaut right here.’”
“Emphasis on the ‘finally’ popped the question,” Anderson joked about the engagement, since the couple has been together for close to three years.
But why the location? Because you probably won't find another couple or family that are this big of Packers fans. It couldn't have worked out any better.
“A lot of people said, ‘Why don’t you make this a personal moment? You’re celebrating your love for each other.’ We’re the kind of couple; we have a big family,” Lewandowski said. “We like to be with our family. We just like to be around friends and family.”
As far as the Packers season, fans have high expectations year in and year out, and this year is no different.
“Super Bowl? That’s a big prediction. If Aaron (Rodgers) can step it up, I think we can do it,” Russel Mausolf said.
“Eleven and five,” John Lewandowski, Kyle’s dad, said about the Packers 2017 record. “We’ll see where we go from there. I’ve learned to not take the Packers so serious. Life goes on on Monday and you still have to go back to work.”
Their strength of schedule looks to be in the middle of the pack, which could mean another successful regular season.
