Tallahassee girl continuing to recover after accidental shooting

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A child who was injured in a shooting last weekend in Tallahassee is continuing to recover from her injuries.

The little girl was shot as she sat in a car at a gas station in the 2400 block of West Tharpe Street near Mission Road.

The child's mother says 5-year-old Kimia continues to improve each day. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her family cover expenses.

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating the shooting as accidental.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A child was injured in a shooting Saturday night in Leon County.

The shooting happened around 9:17 p.m. on the 2400 block of West Tharpe Street near Mission Road.

When officials arrived to the scene, they located a child in a car who had sustained a gunshot wound. The child was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

An initial investigation leads police to believe this was an accidental shooting.
