TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Oregon head football coach Willie Taggart is leaving the Ducks program to become the next head coach at Florida State University.

Warchant, among other outlets, is reporting that Willie Taggart will become the 10th head coach in FSU's history, and the first full-time minority head coach.

Taggart had previous head coaching stops at Western Kentucky (16-20 overall record in three years) and South Florida (24-25 overall record in four years) before he accepted the Oregon head coaching job last December.

Taggart coached the Ducks to a 7-5 record in 2017.

About an hour after news first broke, FSU made it official by releasing a press release on Taggart's hiring.
