TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department says foul play is not suspected in the death of a local man whose body was found last month in Tallahassee's Frenchtown neighborhood.

Thomas Clifford Clark 53, was found dead in the pond at Carter Howell Strong Park on January 15.

Police said in a news release on Thursday, "After interviewing witnesses and processing the evidence, the preliminary findings suggest foul play was not the cause of Mr. Clark’s death."

Clark's family had reported him missing just days before his body was discovered.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Tallahassee Police have identified the man whose body was found in a pond in Frenchtown.

Thomas Clifford Clark, 53, had been missing for weeks. Authorities found him Monday floating in the pond at Carter Howell Strong Park off of West Georgia Street.

Clark's daughter, Kyra Clark, says they'd just been near that park Sunday posting missing flyers for Thomas.

"To find out that that's where he was when we were just out there, it hurts. You can't really explain the feeling. I've never lost a parent, so I don't know how to feel," she said.

Benwielther Clark-Brown, Thomas' sister, said, "I'm just thankful we have closure. He'd been missing for two weeks or more. Finally, we have closure."

Thomas' son, Trevores Cozart, said, "He was loved. I want them to know that everybody loved him around here. I can't say much because it's hard. But, he was loved."

Family members say Clark was the life of the party.

His daughter, Veyonce Clark, recalled, "Our daddy, his personality was huge. He would make you smile, laugh, rethink about what he just said. He'll put you on your toes."

"He loved music. He loved to sing. He had a beautiful voice," his children remember.

"I want to know how he ended up in that pond. But, at this point, at least we can give him some type of peace," said Kyra.

Clark's death is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call TPD at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
