TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTSP) -- If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are to end their losing streak over the next couple weeks, they’ll need to do it without Jameis Winston.

Bucs Coach Dirk Koetter confirmed he’s shutting down Winston for the next couple weeks, and said Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Sunday agains the Jets.

Winston is dealing with a shoulder injury. He didn’t play in the second half of the team’s 30-10 loss to the New York Jets.

The former FSU quarterback has completed 61.4 percent of his pass attempts this season (159-of-259) for 1,920 total yards (averaged out to 240.0 yards per game) and 10 touchdowns through eight games this season. If his passing percentage stands at the end of the year, it'd mark the highest so far in his three years with Tampa.

The Bucs sit in last place in the NFC South, with a 2-6 record, and have lost five straight games.
