TAMPA BAY, Fla. (WCTV) -- Charter Communications has announced it is ending operation of Spectrum Sports in Florida.

According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the 24-hour sports channel that was exclusive to Charter customers in Tampa and Orlando, produced more than 5,000 hours of high school sports programing and covered more than 160 high school games, including multiple state finals.

Spectrum Sports told the Business Journal that resources from the channel will be reallocated to local news operations in Florida, and some jobs will be eliminated, but most employees will remain on board.
