TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WCTV) -- Tallahassee community leaders met with residents inside Saint Paul United Methodist Church to discuss
"restorative justice."

Restorative justice is the practice of understanding and healing from harm caused by another person. A panel, including state attorney Jack Campbell, spoke about their experiences and how people can get through hard times.

"Restorative justice allows more information and more communication so that everyone can be made whole, that is healthy as we can possibly come from this correction," said Campbell.

Members on the panel also discussed how victims' families often don't want revenge, but understanding of what happened and to find a solution that matters.

Throughout the country, restorative justice programs have helped lead to declines in recidivism.
