TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Wednesday, students from FAMU are exploring careers in law enforcement. More than 18 agencies from across the state came to the campus for the HBCU Law Enforcement Recruitment and Training fair
The day began with a career fair. Organizers said the goal is to recruit individuals who have a passion to help improve the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
"When crime occurs in our community, who do you call and I think that we need to be able to call on law enforcement and feel that we can and they'll help and law enforcement needs to feel that when I come to respond to you that you'll give me the information I need to take care of the issue,” said coordinator Randy Nelson.
The event ends with a round table discussion. It's being held in the Perry Paige auditorium at FAMU. It starts at 6 p.m.
