TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida A&M University police department is spreading cheer to kids in need this Christmas.
Officer spent this morning at the Apalachee Parkway Walmart Christmas shopping with children who may not have otherwise found much under their tree.
Each participant received a gift car and could choose the items of their choice within the card's spending limit.
One child's grandmother says she can't say "Thank You" enough.
"[There are] a lot of kids that don't get a chance to experience the sweet kindness that the officers are doing for them anf just for him to have a smile on his face is worth it," Jaculyn Ash told WCTV.
This year, the FAMU Police Department sponsored 21 children.
