TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- There was a powerful celebration at FAMU Friday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The university held its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation in Gaither Gym.
The keynote speaker was Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump.
Crump got fired up as he told students they are today's leaders. He encouraged them to stand up and speak up in the face of injustice.
"We need the spirit of Martin Luther King to come and for people to take a stand and say that we are better together than we are divided. I think that was the enduring message that I tried to deliver," Crump said.
