TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission made her way to the Capital City Tuesday.

Mignon Clyburn spent the morning with the Florida Public Service Commission. She discussed the new initiatives set in place to improve communication services for all citizens.

Like the universal service fund which provides better wireless coverage for those in rural areas.

"We had over 300 million dollars distributed to local providers in 2011 and beyond that really attempted to make mobile coverage more affordable, as well as better,” said Clyburn.

However Clyburn adds it's going to take more funding on the local, state, and federal level to make sure everyone citizen has the coverage they deserve.
