FSU Baseball looks to even series against Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The 12th-ranked Florida State baseball team hopes to even the series against rival-Florida tonight in Jacksonville.

The Seminoles take on the Gators, 6 p.m. at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. FSU narrowly lost to Florida 1-0 in the first game of the Sunshine Showdown on March 14.

Things haven't been much easier since for the squad. FSU dropped a game to Florida Golf Coast the day after they lost to UF. Then dropped a series 2-1 to Virginia Tech, losing the third and deciding game 17-0 in Blacksburg.

FSU does enter part two of the rivalry on a four-game winning streak, including a series sweep over Notre Dame. FSU Outfielder Dylan Busby brings a hot bat into the game, going 6-12 in a double-header against the Irish on Friday.

Tuesday evening, Andrew Karp (0-1) will be taking the mound for FSU against Florida's Garret Milchin, making his first career start.

The game can be heard on 106.1 FM locally.

The final game of the Sunshine Showdown will be Tuesday, April 11 in Tallahassee. FSU leads the series 128-113-1 all time.
