TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Fifty students from Florida State University gave back to their community on Saturday morning.
Students from the law school and the FSU basketball team lent a helping hand to Second Harvest of the Big Bend. They sorted food in the meat locker and assembled backpacks filled with snacks.
All of the food collected will go to students in need in the big bend area.
"It’s more than basketball, its bigger than basketball, it’s just not what it’s all about," said CJ Walker. "I don’t want to be described just as a basketball player. I want to be somebody that gives back to the community as well."
Walker said he hopes the students helping out encourages other young people to give back to their community.
