TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Students around FSU's campus are reacting to the news of Jimbo Fisher leaving to be the head football coach at Texas A&M University.
"It's really unfortunate for Florida State University as a whole. But, in the end, he just wasn't as loyal as everyone had wanted. He asked us to be loyal all season long. Then immediately he up'd and out before the season was even done," Jacob Wilson said.
"I don't blame him. He had a good run here and I appreciate everything he's done over the years. But yeah, I think it's time he moves on," Dylan Field said.
"I heard that he was going to be paid $2 million more. So, I think that's good for him. If you're making more money, then go for that," said one student named Zoe.
Will Stonesifer said, "I didn't think he'd leave in a million years. I thought he really liked it here. It's sad to see him go. I guess for all that money, I'd leave, too."
"I think he's doing what's good for him. I think it's our players or it's him that our season wasn't great. So, if he's leaving, good for him. Maybe he'll do better elsewhere," Clara Castor said.
A student named Kelly said, "Obviously we are very sad to see Jimbo go, but I wish him the best of luck."
