TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida Highway Patrol is welcoming 63 new state troopers.
Friday morning, the 135th recruit class took their oath into office at Christian Heritage Church, surrounded by family, friends, and fellow state troopers.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi took part in the ceremony as commencement speaker.
These recruits endured 29 weeks of rigorous training.
We caught up with one new trooper who said he’s looking forward to serving Leon County.
"I just look forward to all the blessings the Lord will bestow upon me. To protect and serve my community, protecting and serving the highways, and making Florida safer for all,” said Darin Robinson.
There are more than 1,900 state troopers serving in Florida.
