WHIGHAM, Ga. (WCTV) -- Deputies in Georgia nabbed a fugitive wanted out of Gainesville, Florida Thursday afternoon.
According to the Grady County Sheriff's Office, Ellison Gerard Jackson was discovered working at a car wash off Highway 84 in Whigham, Georgia.
Jackson was wanted for attempted second degree murder and grand theft stemming from an incident in Alachua County, Florida on December 4.
GCSO says Jackson beat a woman with a metal skillet and choked her until she lost consciousness. Jackson allegedly then stole the victim's purse, wallet and cell phone before fleeing the scene in her car.
The victim required more than 30 staples and 40 stitches to close the wounds to her head, and suffered multiple broken bones in her hands. Officials say she was placed into a medically-induced coma.
Jackson was arrested without incident and transported to the Grady County Jail, where authorities say he will wait extradition back to Florida.
