TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A former Godby High School student has been arrested, accused of sexual battery on an 8-year-old girl.

Michael Hudson, 19, turned himself in on Sunday night after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to court documents, an investigation was launched in September, after the mother of an 8-year-old girl called the Leon County Sheriff's Office to report that her daughter had been forced to perform oral sex on Hudson.

Deputies believe the sexual battery occurred sometime between September 2016 and July 2017, when Hudson was a student at Godby.

Hudson is now a freshman at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee and is listed on the roster for the university's Men's Track and Field team.

Hudson was instructed to return to Tallahassee for questioning and was subsequently taken into custody.

Hudson is being held in the Leon County Detention Facility on $25,000 bond.
