TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Fire Department is investigating what caused a mobile home fire on Tuesday that left four family pets dead.

Tallahassee firefighters responded to the residence off of Highway 20 just before 11 this morning and found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames. The fire was venting through the roof and TFD crews initiated a defensive attack.

Once the fire was knocked down, fire crews conducted a search of the home and found four family pets deceased inside.

None of the six residents living at the address were home at the time of the fire.

Officials say the home is a total loss with damages estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS, and Talquin Utilities.
