TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Veterans and their families enjoyed a free meal at Golden Corral Monday night as a thank you for their service.
It was part of the restaurant's annual Military Appreciation Night, where they get a chance to serve those who have served our country.
"It's really nice to feel appreciated like this," said Air Force veteran Alexander de Treville. "All the staff is wonderful and they really do show appreciation for veterans, and they really go out of their way to do it."
The line to get into the buffet stretched around the block and there wasn't an open seat in the entire restaurant.
Most veterans said the best part of the night wasn't the free meal, but meeting fellow vets and swapping stories.
"I love the comradery, it's why I keep coming back to this event every year," said Army veteran Charles Ervin. "I talked to one man who is a World War II veteran and was a member of the 555th infantry which was the first all black parachute infantry ever."
The Rickards High School JROTC also helped assist with serving meals.
