TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A Leon County Grand Jury is now investigating the death of Florida State University student Andrew Coffey.

The State Attorney's Office confirmed the investigation on Tuesday. State Attorney Jack Campbell wouldn't comment on the decision except to say he has already issued "a bunch of subpoenas."

Coffey's body was found a month ago at a home on Buena Vista Drive following a party. The 20-year-old was a pledge of FSU's Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.

Police say initial indications are that alcohol may have played a role in Coffey's death. An official cause of death has not yet been released by authorities.

The grand jury will hear testimony behind closed doors on December 18 and 19.
