HAVANA, Fla. (WCTV) -- Seventh graders from Havana Magnet School took their civics class into the real world.

On Tuesday, students toured all of the city departments and learned how each work; from the police and fire departments to public works and town council.

One of the students, Austin Sweet, said, "As we get older, we may get involved in encounters that aren't very good for us and we don't know what people we're going to go to and how we're going to fix it."

The tour was a part of Florida City Government Week, sponsored by the Florida League of Cities.
