FOXBORO, Mass. (WCTV) -- Leonard Fournette rushed for 31 yards on nine carries and a touchdown and Blake Bortles played sparingly, completing three passes on five attempts for 16 yards as the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the New England Patriots, 31-24, in their first preseason game of 2017.
Fournette's touchdown came in the second quarter to cap a four-play, 54-yard drive for the Jags. The rookie running back punched it in from one-yard out.
Impressing in the second half was running back Corey Grant, who finished with 120 yards on eight touches with a 79-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Grant led all players on the ground, and paced the Jags' rushing attack, who finished with 207 yards.
Only three players finished with multiple receptions for Jacksonville, and Keelan Cole finished with 108 yards after cashing in a 97-yard touchdown pass from Chad Henne in the second quarter.
Defensively, the Jags' held the Patriots to 116 rushing yards but did surrender over 300 yards through the air to the duo of Jimmy Garoppolo (235 yards) and Jacoby Brissett (88 yards)
The Jaguars will be in action in the second week of the preseason next Thursday when they host Tampa Bay.
