JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WCTV) -- On the eve of their third preseason game of the 2017 slate, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced back-up quarterback Chad Henne will start Thursdays game against the Carolina Panthers.
Henne takes the starting job (as much as you can have a starting job in the preseason, at least) from Blake Bortles.
In a press release, the Jaguars say both Henne and Bortles will see snaps with the first-team offense against Carolina.
Henne served as the Jags' starter from 2012-14, played two series last week against Tampa Bay, going 6-for-10 for 44 yards passing.
Bortles has started 46 regular season games for Jacksonville, dating back to 2014, and threw for 3,905 yards and 23 touchdowns last year.
The Jaguars and Panthers will kickoff tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. You can watch the game on WCTV2.
