TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Charges have been upgraded for a woman accused in the murder of Hoyt Birge.

Paige Vowell, 28, was arrested on May 10 for accessory after the fact to a homicide. She bonded out of jail days later.

Vowell's bond was revoked earlier this month after prosecutors say she tampered with a witness and failed to show up for a court appearance. A judge withdrew the arrest warrant and reinstated her bond the next day.

Now, Vowell has been indicted on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges.

Hoyt Birge, 32, was killed in a struggle at a home on Mission Road in May. His body was later found in the trunk of a car at the U Club apartments.

A total of eight people were arrested in the case.

Vowell is being held in the Leon County Detention Facility.
