TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- If you haven't finished Christmas shopping yet, you're not alone. But, of course that also means you'll have a lot of company in the aisles and in the checkout lines.
Managers at the Bradfordville Target store say their peak times for crowds have been between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for the past few days.
Many shopping all around town say they've been pleasantly surprised by their experiences so far, especially considering it's so close to Christmas.
Susan Sheffield said, "It's going great. This is the first time I've come down here to Tallahassee. I'm from Atlanta, but I love coming down here and shopping. It's easy to get around. I just have a few last-minute gifts that I need to get."
Many retailers have extended their store hours for the holidays.
Shoppers say the key is to try to plan ahead. Bring your Christmas list of items you aim to buy and who you're buying them for.
"I really love Christmas shopping," said Meg Gwaltney.
She was out shopping for her mom and cousin Friday. "I bought a couple of things here. I'm not going to say what I bought. They're both right over there, so I don't want to give away the surprise," Gwaltney said.
Others may not be as enthused.
Gerald Humbert said, "Me personally, I'm being drug out."
He said he really does enjoy the fact that he's out with his family. His wife, Marcia, said, "I'm just glad to be out shopping and having a good time with my family. That's what it's all about, spending time with family and friends."
Toby Buchanan said, "Christmas shopping has been going very well. I'm just picking up last minute things before the holiday."
It's not smooth sailing for everyone.
"I'm trying to do stocking stuffers and it's not going great. Right now we have a lint roller in the cart. So yeah, I was looking for trinkets. But, all the big stuff is done," said Callie Corbin.
Diane Power said, "I just have one left and I have no clue what to get them. That's always the way."
"It's always those nephews, those boys that you just don't know what to get. So, socks and ties and things," Sheffield said.
Others have had a lot of luck.
Ashlee Zehr said, "Good. We're finished. We just went to TJ Maxx and we're done. Amazing."
One shopper said, "We really are, we're done. We got it all wrapped and ready to go. We're just out looking for ourselves."
Along with making a list before heading out shopping, other last-minute tips include setting a time limit.
Experts say for presents, gift cards and food never fail.
