TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Leon County Sheriff's Detective Emily Shaw can add another animal rescue to her resume.

LCSO shared photos to Facebook on Wednesday of Detective Shaw capturing an injured owl that had become stranded in the median of Interstate 10 in Leon County.

Deputies say the owl, which was likely injured by a vehicle strike, is now being treated at North Florida Animal Hospital.

Detective Shaw is no stranger to handling wildlife. She also made headlines back in October when she safely captured a 9-foot yellow anaconda that had gotten loose in a Leon County neighborhood.
