TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Leon County Sheriff's Office says a man has been arrested on child sexual assault charges after two adult victims came forward to report being abused as children.
David Dedemoninicis, 59, of Hernando, Florida, is charged with sexual assault on a physically helpless victim.
According to arrest documents, an investigation was launched in June 2017 after a man contacted authorities to report that he and his sister had been sexually and physically abused by Dedemoninicis as children, between 1980 and 1991.
Both victims provided detailed accounts of times that they say Dedemoninicis abused them or forced them to perform sexual acts on him. The victims confirmed that some of the incidents took place in Tallahassee.
One of the victims told police that he was afraid to come forward about the abuse because Dedemoninicis made threats to kill him and his family if he ever reported it.
Florida's Statute of Limitations allows for victims of certain felony charges, who were under the age of 18 when the crime occurred, to come forward and press charges at any time.
Following an investigation, Dedemoninicis was arrested on a warrant for sexual assault on a victim over the age of 12.
Dedemoninicis is being held in the Leon County Detention Facility on $50,000 bond.
