MOODY A.F.B., Ga. (WCTV) -- Friday morning, more than 100 airmen greeted their loved ones, after returning from Southwest Asia.

Families at Moody Air Force Base welcomed home the men and women of the 822d Base Defense Squadron.

The deployment last for six months.

While away, Rachel Grooms delivered the child of SSgt. Nicholas Grooms.

"A lot of people don't really know what goes into being a military family," says Rachel. "It's hard, but I couldn't be more proud of what my husband does. It's definitely a sacrifice, but we are excited to meet daddy today."

SSgt. Grooms met his 4-month-old, Urijah, for the very first time.

Rachel says they did Skype while he was away and during the delivery.

However, she says there's nothing like holding your child for the first time.
