Man in critical condition following dirt bike crash

LIVE OAK, Fla. (WCTV) -- One person was airlifted to the hospital after a dirt bike crash on Thursday afternoon in Live Oak.

Suwannee County Fire Rescue says the crash occurred around 4:51 p.m. on 2nd Street at Evelyn Avenue NW.

SCFR says, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and was thrown from the dirt bike. No other vehicles appeared to be involved.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver, identified as 23-year-old Macio Mcquay, of Live Oak, was airlifted to UF Health in Gainesville in critical condition.

FHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
