TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A new national database is now allowing users to search and compare hospice providers.
This public reporting is a mandate of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. It allows the public to compare up to three hospice facilities at one time, helping individuals better choose which will be a good fit for their loved ones.
Big Bend Hospice scored above the national average in all seven categories. The rankings include categories such as psychological treatment, pain management and treatment for shortness of breath.
Ginni West, Chief Clinical Officer of Big Bend Hospice says, "This is an opportunity for them to look and see how are the hospices doing in my area, and which hospice do I want to be a part of, so that the care that either myself or my family member receives is absolutely the best care that's being provided."
