TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Malik Wade is accused of killing a young woman and her mother; Rosario Sanchez and Paula Portillo. Both of the victims were found dead Tuesday inside their home on Mastic Lane in western Leon County.

A local resident and friend of one the victims said he was stunned to learn of the death of the girl and her mother. Casey Goodson said he was just with Sanchez last weekend.

Investigators were still on scene Wednesday as they tried to put the pieces together. A friend told WCTV the younger victim, Sanchez, was an outgoing person who never had problems with anyone. Neighbors said they're shocked to hear the news because incidents like this don't happen in their community.

"I didn't even believe it. I thought it was just a rumor but then I saw the pictures. I knew her and her mom were the only ones that lived there. It's crazy," Goodson said.

Goodson said the street was blocked off for hours Tuesday night as investigators tried to find out who did this.

Investigators arrested 19-year-old Malik Wade just hours after receiving the initial call. Wade is being charged with two counts of homicide.

At this point, investigators are not saying how the two victims were killed, and they're not commenting on a motive for the crime.
