SUWANNEE CO., Fla. (WCTV) - A Lake City woman was killed early Sunday morning when the vehicle she was riding in left the roadway and began to overturn.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 12:25 a.m. on County Road 136 near 76th Street in Suwannee County.
The crash report states that 48-year-old Darlene R. Reynolds was driving east on County Road 136 when her car drifted off of the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder. FHP says Reynolds' vehicle struck a concrete culvert and began to overturn several times before coming to final rest on its roof.
Troopers say as the car was overturning, one of the passengers was ejected from the vehicle. 29-year-old Kalandra Riley was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Reynolds and two other passengers in the car, 23-year-old Mildred Curry and 21-year-old Kametria Lowe, were all airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in serious condition.
