Panhandle toddler dies after falling out of truck bed

BAKER, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -- A Baker toddler is dead after falling out of the bed of a truck Sunday morning in Okaloosa County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Christopher Ryles, 36, was towing a trailer heading south on a private property on Galliver Cutoff Road.

Officials say the toddler was sitting in the bed of the truck when he fell out and was struck by the right-side trailer tires.

It is not clear why the toddler was in the bed of the truck.

Charges are pending in the investigation.
