Teenage pedestrian hit, killed by car in Lafayette County

LAFAYETTE CO., Fla. (WCTV) -- A 15-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car on a bridge in Lafayette County Tuesday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:04 p.m. on US-27 just east of State Road 349.

The crash report states that 15-year-old Brandon Lee Slaughter was walking in the road on a narrow bridge when he was hit by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Charges are pending an investigation.
