PERRY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida Highway Patrol has identified a man killed in a motorcycle crash in Taylor County over the weekend.

According to FHP, the accident happened around 11 a.m. Saturday on Beach Road, south of Fox Hunter Road.

38-year-old David Palmer, of Perry, was traveling northbound on Beach Road on a 2007 Honda Valkyrie motorcycle.

Troopers say Palmer failed to negotiate a left curve and the motorcycle traveled off of the roadway, 'high-sided' and began to roll over. Palmer was thrown from the motorcycle before it continued onto the shoulder of the road and collided with a tree.

Palmer was killed in the crash.

Troopers say Palmer was not wearing a helmet.

FHP was assisted at the scene by the Taylor County Sheriff's Department and Taylor County EMS.
