GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Police say they've arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting two employees at a Florida apartment complex.

The shooting happened at the complex's leasing office just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Gainesville police spokesman Ben Tobias says Jude Onyegbulam Osuji Jr. and Robert Earl Brumbaugh were killed at the Summer Place Villas. Both men were Gainesville residents and employees at the apartment complex.

Tobias said 23-year-old Cedric Tremaine Plummer was arrested in Lowndes County, Georgia, and a woman he was holding hostage was safely recovered. Police say a firearm was also recovered with the suspect.

Investigators believe Plummer drove up I-75 until authorities with the Georgia State Patrol and the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office were able to stop him.

Police say Plummer is a resident at Summer Place.
