TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Freshman quarterback Malik Henry is transferring from Florida State, according to CBS Sports.
Henry's family confirmed the news with the following statement sent to Noles247:
I have decided to transfer from Florida State University. I want to thank Coach Fisher and his staff for giving me the opportunity to be a student athlete at FSU. I wish him and the team nothing but success. At this time I don't know what University I will be attending in the future.
Henry was suspended for a violation of team rules in late August before returning to the team a month later. He was ranked among the nation's top quarterbacks coming out of high school.
Fellow freshman Deondre Francois was named the starting quarterback shortly after Henry's suspension and before FSU's season opener against Ole Miss.
It's not known at this time where Henry plans to transfer.
