TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida State men's basketball team is set to tip off their season as they welcome the George Washington Colonels to the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center on Tuesday.
The Seminoles are coming off a 26-9 season, and a 12-6 mark in ACC play. FSU is without their three leading scorers from a year ago - Dwayne Bacon, Jonathan Isaac and Xavier Rathan-Mayes, who all left for the NBA - and returns no players who averaged double figures in points from a season ago.
The leading returning scorer and rebounder is Terance Mann, who averaged 8.4 points and 4.5 rebounds, which was second best on the team in 25 minutes per night.
In the Noles’ two preseason games, FSU had three players average double figures in points – PJ Savoy (12.5 points per game), Christ Koumadje (11.5) and Mann (10).
FSU enters their home opener with the fifth-longest home winning streak in the country at 21 games, behind only SMU, Texas Southern, Cincinnati and Oregon.
The Noles and Colonels will tip-off tonight at 7 p.m.
