Two people injured in shooting in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department is continuing to investigating a Thursday morning shooting that sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Dewey and Dover Street in Tallahassee's Frenchtown neighborhood.

We reached out to TPD on Friday afternoon, they say there are no new updates in the investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.

Authorities are asking anyone with any information on the shooting to call the Tallahassee Police Department at (850) 891-4200, or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Two people are recovering after a shooting in Tallahassee.

The shooting happened just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Dewey and Dover Streets.

Area residents say the victims are a man and a woman. They say one victim was possibly shot in the leg, and the other in the foot. Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Tallahassee Police say the two people were outside of an abandoned brick house on the corner of the intersection.

Stephanie Terry lives nearby. She was away at the time of the incident, but rushed home in a panic when she got a call about a shooting near her home.

"It was like, what's going on? I really thought it was my son or one of my cousins. So, I'm like what's really going on. It's just crazy. Just need to stop the violence for real," Terry said.

Police have not been able to release any information in regards to whether there are any leads or suspects.

Officers interviewed witnesses on scene. They're also asking anyone with any information to call the police department at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.

It happened at approximately 11:08 a.m. Thursday at 1003 Dewey Street, near the intersection of Dover Street in Tallahassee's Frenchtown neighborhood.

Crime scene tape is up in the area and several police units are on scene.

The case has been assigned to Investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit. At this time, they are interviewing all known witnesses and processing the scene. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
