The snow begins to disappear from a yard in Blakely, Georgia.
ALBANY, Ga. (WCTV) -- For the second time in three weeks, residents in South Georgia woke up to a winter wonderland.
In Blakely, Georgia, the winter weather began around 5 a.m. Wednesday, with a mixed bag of precipitation from ice, a drizzle and some snow flurries.
Some grass was covered and although it wasn't much total accumulation, it was enough for some to take advantage of what little had fallen.
With the remnants of the precipitation gone as early as 9 a.m., residents then braced for the bitter cold.
The snow didn't stay around for long in Albany, either.
Residents in town left the warm and comfort of their homes to make the most out of their rare snow day.
Many people say they've waited more than a decade to have some snowy fun, with people scooping it off the ground and even cars.
Wind chill advisories are in effect for Wednesday night through Thursday for all of South Georgia and North Florida.
