TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Police have charged a man for creating a sexually explicit video with a child that began circulating on Facebook.

The arrest happened overnight outside of Montgomery, Alabama.

The disturbing video allegedly shows Germaine Moore engaging in a sex act with a young girl. Authorities say that girl is now safe.

The message spread throughout the United States and beyond. WCTV received the message several times.

Most people say they do nothing when they see inappropriate posts or messages. That's a great option compared to continuing to circulate disturbing videos or pictures.

"I immediately ignore it," said Tallahassee resident Anthony Barahona.

You can go a step further than ignoring inappropriate content. You can report it to the social media site.

"I know there's a report button. Each social media website has a reported plan," Barahona said.

WCTV reached out to Facebook after receiving the the video, which shows a young girl performing a sexual act with an adult.

A Facebook representative said, "We have zero tolerance for child exploitation images being shared on Facebook or Messenger - regardless of intent - and we are extremely aggressive in preventing and removing child exploitative content."

Landon Weeks, a Tallahassee resident, said, "I think that on each individual post there's like a little button you can press and it brings up a bunch of options. You can report individual posts and individual users."

"There needs to be something. It's the internet," Barahona said.

Facebook says it reports posts to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as well as works with local law enforcement teams to bring people to justice.

MILLBROOK, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities in Alabama say a man wanted for a child porn video being shared around the world has been arrested.

WSFA-TV reports that 44-year-old Germaine Moore turned himself in to Millbrook Police around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. He is charged with sexual assault of a child, distribution of video depicting the assault, and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Crime Stoppers executive director Tony Garrett tells Al.com that more charges are expected.

Moore is also wanted in Detroit, where prosecutors allege that he sexually assaulted three girls.

The video circulating on Facebook and other social media sites shows a young girl performing a sexual act with an adult. News outlets report that the victim has been located and is safe.

Multiple media outlets, including WCTV, received several messages on Facebook about the video. Upon receipt, WCTV station management reported the messages to local authorities and the Leon County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation.

Law enforcement officials say, if you receive the message, delete it. Do not open it and do not forward it.

Montgomery Police charged 42-year-old Jerrell Washington with distributing the video, and warn that anyone who shares the message, even in outrage, can be charged as well.

State Bureau of Investigation Lt. Brooke Walker says Moore’s fiancee was arrested Monday night and is not cooperating with authorities.
