TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Four suspects are now behind bars after a home invasion burglary in Tallahassee.
Jodie Atkins, 25, Dalton Jett,18, and Preston Jett, 21, were taken into custody on Monday. A fourth suspect, Gabriel Rittman, 19, was arrested Tuesday.
According to arrest reports, on January 26, the victim heard a knock on her front door and saw Jodie Atkins standing on her porch. When the victim opened the door, police say Atkins and four others rushed in.
Authorities say the suspects began breaking items in the home, then began attacking and threatening the victim and her friend.
The victim said two of the suspects pulled out handguns and pointed them at her and her friend. When the victim began to scream, the suspects fled the scene.
Deputies say the suspects caused more than $5,000 in damage to the home during the incident.
In fear that the suspects would return and kill her, the victim did not immediately report the incident to law enforcement. A friend later convinced the victim to contact authorities.
Following an investigation by Leon County deputies, Jodie Atkins and Gabriel Rittman were arrested and charged with burglary with assault, battery, and criminal mischief.
Dalton and Preston Jett were arrested and charged with armed burglary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and criminal mischief.
All four suspects were booked into the Leon County Detention Facility.
An arrest warrant is pending for an additional suspect in the case.
