TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Tuesday morning, students at Swift Creek Middle School took part in their 11th annual Black History Month program.
The school welcomed speakers from FAMU and the military, and enjoyed performances that included drums, dancing and singing.
The theme of the program was African-Americans in Times of War.
The school hoped to send the message that there are great role models of all different backgrounds.
"We are all one and we all come together," said Florida Dobson, a faculty member at SCMS. "That's what makes us all unique, and I think it's time to celebrate it."
