TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The affiliation between Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and Wolfson Children's Hospital continues to grow.
The Tallahassee Memorial Emergency Center, located off Thomasville Road near I-10, has provided pediatric emergency care since opening in 2013.
Administrators say the next step in the partnership with Wolfson is providing emergency cardiac care for children.
"I always like when we can provide better care to our community. Quality of health is an element of quality of and that's a part of our responsibility. This is a tool that allows us to elevate that quality of health. So, it makes it better for Tallahassee," said Mark O'Bryant, the president of TMH.
A big part of the next level of this partnership includes some new technology, such as Telemedicine.
With the click of a button, they can have a pediatric ER specialist from Wolfson at a child's bedside at TMH, via video.
Administrators say they'll also be providing additional training for staff and nurses, as well as more support for physicians.
