TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Tallahassee Police have made an arrest in a Friday shooting at the La Quinta Inn on North Monroe Street.
27-year-old Ashley Dixon is charged with attempted murder, sexual battery, and grand theft.
Arrest documents say that Dixon met the victim at the hotel for sex. At one point, the victim asked Dixon to leave. He refused, and then allegedly raped the victim, shooting the victim as he tried to run away. Police say Dixon then stole the victim's phone and cash.
The victim escaped to the hotel lobby to call for help, suffering from gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.
Dixon is being held at the Leon County Jail.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting at the La Quinta Inn on North Monroe Street.
TPD received a call around 12:00 a.m. Friday regarding a shooting at 2905 North Monroe Street.
Once on the scene, officers and emergency personnel found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police say the incident happened on the grounds of 2905 North Monroe Street and the gunshot victim had gone into the hotel lobby for help.
Police are not releasing the victim's identity at this time, pending the notification of family members regarding the extent of their injuries.
The case has been assigned to Investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit. At this time they are interviewing all known witnesses and processing the scene. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200 or CrimeStoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
