TPD makes arrest in strip mall shooting

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department has identified the suspect in a shooting from July 26 on West Pensacola Street.

TPD has arrested 29-year-old Vantrell D. Paulisaint and has charged him with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

According to police, Paulisaint pointed a gun at two men in the parking lot of a strip mall in the middle of an altercation. In self defense, one of the victims fired a shot at Paulisaint, but a bullet struck a bystander in her vehicle.

Paulisaint is in the Leon County Jail.

The Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate this case. TPD is asking anyone with information to call them at (850) 891-4200 or if they choose to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- One person was injured during an early morning shooting at a strip mall on West Pensacola Street.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, the shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday at 2020 West Pensacola Street.

Responding officers and emergency personnel provided medical attention to a single victim, who was then taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

TPD's Violent Crimes Unit is interviewing witnesses and processing the scene.
