TPD looking for suspect in robberies targeting elderly women

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A Tallahassee Police spokesman says these hold ups are happening along North Monroe Street not far from the interstate.

SGT David Northway says the man pictured in these surveillance photos is suspected of snatching purses from older women in the parking lots of several businesses along North Monroe Street.

Northway says the robberies have happened outside the Dollar Tree, Belk and Cracker Barrel.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a string of robberies where the suspect appears to be targeting elderly females.

TPD says in each case the suspect has been described as a black male, approximately 6'0" tall with a medium build and a low haircut.

Officials say the suspect has also been identified wearing a white t-shirt in some robberies and a grey t-shirt in others, but is always wearing blue jeans.

TPD say the incidents have taken place between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.
