TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A Tallahassee man has been arrested on child abuse charges after the Department of Children and Families received multiple complaints.
27-year-old Shabazz Boozer was taken into custody on Monday on three counts of felony child abuse.
An investigation was launched in October of 2017 after DCF determined three children being cared for by Boozer needed to be removed from the home. The children reportedly had obvious signs of injury, including marks consistent with being hit with an object forcefully.
According to arrest documents, the three children, ages five, six and eight, had numerous bruises, scabs and belt marks across their backs and legs.
Wykelia Garner, 32, was arrested in December 2017 on three counts of child abuse. The Tallahassee Police Department says Garner is the mother of two of the children and was living in the home at the time the abuse occurred.
