TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A teenager who was hospitalized following a single-car crash on Velda Dairy Road earlier this week has passed away.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
The crash report states that 19-year-old Deborah Hampton was driving north on Velda Dairy Road when she traveled off of the roadway onto the shoulder and struck a utility pole.
FHP says Hampton's car continued to travel up a small culvert incline to a driveway and became airborne. The car reportedly landed back on the ground and began to overturn.
Hampton was ejected from the vehicle as it was overturning. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt.
Hampton was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in critical condition. FHP confirmed on Friday that Hampton later died from her injuries.
